Privacy Policy
In short: we collect only what our apps need to work and improve. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites without your permission. You can ask us to access or delete your data at any time.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how SAHO Ventures Inc. ("SAHO Ventures," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information through the mobile applications we publish on the Apple App Store and Google Play (each an "App," and together the "Apps").
Our Apps do different things, so not every App collects every type of information described here. Each App collects only the information needed for its features. The specific data types each App collects are also shown in its App Store privacy label and Google Play Data safety section. An App may also include an App-specific notice, which supplements this policy.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information, such as your name, email address, and password or sign-in credentials, if the App offers accounts.
- Content you create or upload, such as text, notes, photos, files, or other material you choose to store or process in the App.
- Communications, such as messages you send us for support or feedback, and survey responses.
Information collected automatically
- Device information, such as device model, operating system version, language, app version, and device or advertising identifiers where permitted.
- Usage information, such as features used, screens viewed, session length, and interactions within the App.
- Diagnostics, such as crash reports, performance data, and error logs.
- Approximate location, derived from your IP address, used for purposes like regional settings and security.
Information from device permissions
Some features may ask for access to your camera, photos, microphone, contacts, precise location, notifications, or health and fitness data. We access this information only after you grant permission, and only to provide the feature you are using. You can change permissions at any time in your device settings, although some features may then stop working.
Information from third parties
- Sign-in providers. If you sign in with Apple, Google, or another provider, we receive basic profile information they share with us, such as your name and email address. With Sign in with Apple, you may choose to hide your email address.
- App stores. When you make a purchase, Apple or Google processes your payment. We receive confirmation of the transaction and subscription status, but not your payment card details.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- provide, operate, and maintain the Apps and their features;
- create and manage your account and verify your purchases and subscriptions;
- respond to your questions and provide support;
- understand how the Apps are used so we can fix bugs and improve performance and features;
- send service messages, such as security alerts or changes to our policies, and, with your permission, notifications or marketing messages;
- detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, and security issues; and
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
Where the law of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom applies, we rely on these legal bases: performing our contract with you, our legitimate interests (such as improving and securing the Apps), your consent (which you may withdraw at any time), and compliance with legal obligations.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only as follows:
- Service providers that process information on our behalf, such as cloud hosting, databases, authentication, analytics, crash reporting, customer support, and AI or machine learning services. They may use the information only to provide services to us.
- App stores and platform providers, such as Apple and Google, as needed to deliver the Apps and process purchases.
- Legal and safety reasons, when we believe disclosure is required by law, legal process, or government request, or is needed to protect the rights, property, or safety of SAHO Ventures, our users, or others.
- Business transfers, in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this policy's protections.
- With your consent or at your direction, such as when you choose to share content with others.
5. Third-party services
Our Apps may include software development kits (SDKs) or services from third parties, such as Apple, Google, Firebase, or similar providers, for features like sign-in, analytics, crash reporting, notifications, and payments. These providers may collect information as described in their own privacy policies. The third-party services an App uses are reflected in its store privacy disclosures.
Links within the Apps to third-party websites or services are governed by those third parties' privacy policies, not this one.
6. Tracking and advertising
We do not track you across apps and websites owned by other companies unless you give permission. On iOS, any App that would do so will first ask for permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. You can change this in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings.
If an App shows advertising, this will be stated in its store listing and privacy disclosures.
7. Data retention
We keep personal information only for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy. In general, we keep account information and Your Content while your account is active. We keep diagnostic and usage data for a limited period, and we may keep certain records longer when required by law, to resolve disputes, or to enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or anonymize it.
8. Account and data deletion
You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time:
- In the App: where an App supports accounts, you can delete your account from the App's settings.
- By email: send a request to privacy@saho.ventures with the subject "Data deletion request." Include the name of the App and the email address associated with your account.
We will delete your personal information within 30 days of verifying your request, except for information we are required to keep by law or for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention. Residual copies in backups are deleted on their normal schedule. Deleting your account does not cancel an active subscription; please cancel it through the App Store or Google Play.
Data stored only on your device is removed when you delete the App.
9. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you and receive a copy of it;
- correct inaccurate information;
- delete your information;
- object to or restrict certain processing;
- receive your information in a portable format;
- withdraw consent where we rely on it; and
- opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, or of targeted advertising. As stated above, we do not sell or share personal information for these purposes.
Canada. Under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy laws, including Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector, you may access and correct your personal information and withdraw your consent, subject to legal or contractual restrictions. You may also file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or your provincial privacy commissioner.
California and other U.S. states. Residents of California and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have the rights above, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising them. You may use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf.
EEA, UK, and Switzerland. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise your rights, contact us at privacy@saho.ventures. We may need to verify your identity before responding. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our response.
10. Children's privacy
Unless an App's store listing clearly states that it is designed for children, our Apps are not directed to children under 13, or under 16 in the EEA and UK. We do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it. Any App designed for children will follow applicable laws, such as the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), and the app stores' policies for children's apps. Such an App will include its own notice describing its practices.
11. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we learn of a data breach that affects you, we will notify you as required by law.
12. International transfers
SAHO Ventures is based in Canada, and our service providers may process and store information in Canada, the United States, and other countries. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those where you live, and information stored there may be accessible to the courts, law enforcement, and national security authorities of those countries. When we transfer personal information from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we use appropriate safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version on this page and change the effective date above. If a change is material, we will provide reasonable notice, such as through the App or by email, and obtain your consent where required by law.
14. Contact us
If you have questions about this policy, want to exercise your privacy rights, or want to request deletion of your data, email us at privacy@saho.ventures. SAHO Ventures Inc. is responsible for the personal information collected through the Apps.
